This ranking is established according to the scientific citations listed in Google scholar.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Obviously, American universities remain unbeatable in the World.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">&nbsp;<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">The \"Webometrics Ranking of World Universities\" is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de InvestigacionesCient\u00edficas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/internetlab.cchs.csic.es\/\">Cybermetrics Lab<\/a>, part of the CSIC, is devoted to the quantitative analysis of the Internet and Web contents specially those related to the processes of generation and scholarly communication of scientific knowledge. This is a new emerging discipline that has been called Cybermetrics or Webometrics.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">The Cybermetrics Lab using quantitative methods has designed and applied indicators that allow us to measure the scientific activity on the Web.
