The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebbounen, received Wednesday the ambassador of the United States to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin, at her request, the presidency of the Republic said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The audience was held in the presence of the chief of staff of the presidency of the Republic, Mohamed Ennadir Larbaoui, the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms. Elizabeth Moore Aubin affirmed\u00a0\u00bbthe strong relations\u00a0\u00bb uniting her country and Algeria, stressing that the launch of a direct Algiers-New York flight \u00ab\u00a0will strengthen the bilateral economic relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI thank President Tebboune for the welcome he gave me to talk about the strong bilateral relations uniting our two countries,\u201d declared the American ambassador to the press after leaving the audience granted to her by the president of the Republic Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss \u00ab\u00a0the means of restoring security and stability in the region\u00a0\u00bb and to \u00ab\u00a0express to the President of the Republic all the gratitude of the United States regarding the colossal efforts made by Algeria to support neighboring countries, particularly with the disasters which have caused thousands of victims,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I wished President Tebboune a fruitful and pleasant trip to New York as part of his participation in the work of the UN General Assembly,\u201d maintained the American diplomat, stressing that her country \u201cis ready to work together with Algeria, during its mandate as a member of the UN Security Council and the Human Rights Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting also made it possible to discuss \u00ab\u00a0the strong relations uniting the two countries in the economic field\u00a0\u00bb, she added, stressing that she had affirmed to the President of the Republic that \u00ab\u00a0the launch of a direct line Algiers -New York will be likely to strengthen economic and tourist relations between the two countries, as well as cultural relations, through the exchange of experiences and expertise, particularly in English.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The United States has maintained friendly relations with Algeria and the country continues to seek out stronger economic and political ties. Algeria has been a stalwart partner in the struggle against violent extremism, and its cooperation with the United States continues to increase in many domains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elizabeth Moore Aubin was sworn in as the Ambassador for the People\u2019s Democratic Republic of Algeria on December 21, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elizabeth holds the rank of Minister Counselor. In 2022, she was awarded the Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Service. She has a B.A. in Political Science from Barnard College, 1987.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
