The Minister of Industry, Sifi Ghrieb, started on Saturday, in Algiers, a series of meetings with public industrial groups’ officials so as to evaluate their performance, that of their subsidiaries and affiliated companies, with a view to guaranteeing their effectiveness and addressing the dysfunctions and obstacles they meet, the ministry said in a press release.
In this context, Mr. Ghrieb held working meetings at the ministry’s headquarters with officials of the Local Industries Group (Divindus), the Electronic, Household Appliances and Electrical Industries Group (Elec El Djazair), the National Iron and Steel Company (SNS), as well as the Algerian Chemical Specialties Group (ACS) and their respective subsidiaries.
On this occasion, the minister developed a roadmap and gave « concrete instructions aimed at improving the performance, efficiency and results of these industrial groups and their subsidiaries, in accordance with the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to boost the industrial sector,” the press release specifies.
These directives mainly concern the groups’ action plans, recovery strategies, their financial and economic situation, the adoption of dynamic marketing policies in foreign markets, particularly in Africa, as well as the strengthening of the role of training centers. of the sector and their increased involvement in achieving the objectives set.
It’s urgent to find solutions to overcome obstacles
The minister also insisted on « the need to find urgent solutions to the obstacles and difficulties encountered by certain companies « .
Among the mechanisms mentioned to overcome these challenges, Mr. Ghrieb stressed the importance of creating a framework for cooperation and coordination between industrial groups and other economic sectors, adds the ministry.
Furthermore, the minister highlighted « the importance of developing a national strategic guide for the industry, covering inputs, outputs, national skills in industrial professions, industrial waste and parks of industrial technology, in order to serve as a reference for decision-making at the level of public groups, the development of reverse engineering in the industrial field, the orientation of investors and startups, as well as for the various research centers » .
Compliance is also one of the priorities addressed by Mr. Ghrieb in his orientations, because of its crucial role in ensuring the quality of products, thus facilitating their export and their access to international markets, the press release indicates.
