The Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Arkab, met on Wednesday with a delegation from the Egyptian company “Arab Contractors,” led by the Vice-Chairman of the company’s board of directors, El Sayed Abdel Khalek Al Wazer, with whom he discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation, the ministry said in a press release.
Moreover, the Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructures, Lakhdar Rekhroukh, received the Ambassador of Egypt to Algeria, Mokhtar Gamil Tawfik Warida, who expressed the willingness of some Egyptian companies, notably “Arab Contractors,” to participate in the public railway investment program, the ministry said on Wednesday in a press release.
the two parties examined ways to strengthen cooperative relations between Algeria and Egypt in the fields of energy, renewables and public works, in accordance with the directives of the leaders of the two countries to strengthen the ties of friendship and mutual cooperation.
The discussions also focused on cooperation and investment opportunities between Algerian and Egyptian companies, including those in the sector such as Sonatrach, Sonelgaz and Sonarim, in several areas, including the oil and gas industry, the development of and the construction of infrastructure for hydrocarbons, as well as the creation of power plants for the production, transformation and transportation of electricity, in addition to the implementation of projects for the transformation of mineral resources in Algeria.
The two sides agreed on the importance of promoting cooperation prospects during the next phase, enhancing joint investments, and building bilateral economic partnerships in the sectors, in light of the distinguished expertise and capabilities of the two countries.
For his part, the Egyptian delegation praised the distinguished historical relations between the two countries, expressing its appreciation for the positive level achieved by Egyptian companies operating in Algeria. Ambassador Mokhtar Wreida also stressed the interest of the Arab Republic of Egypt in enhancing cooperation with Algeria, especially in the fields of energy, mining and renewable energy, and exchanging expertise between the two brotherly countries.
